Restaurant Shout Outs.
Yum or Glum
5905 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98136
I visited this restaurant, while in the Emerald city celebrating my birthday weekend. After mapping out places to visit before I left home, I made a reservation after going to their website. You see, I knew before going there was really no way I was visiting Seattle without visiting one of the many African restaurants. And it was great, it was tucked away on a little side street not too far from Seattle's Pike Market, and after visiting the market my friend, and I walked a few blocks over, and it was a beautiful night to do so. It reminded me of a restaurant I would see in Brooklyn, or Harlem. It was quaint, and felt like home.
I ordered the Black Eye Pea Cakes for an appetizer and for the Main course I had the Grilled Chicken smothered in a African Piri Piri sauce, which I believe is a blend of peppers, lemon, parsley and oil (probably peanut) and seasoned. It came with a side of coconut potatoes, rice and salad, and It was delicious. Since my visit they have relocated to a different location, and the correct address, and website information is above. When I go back to visit Seattle again I will be dining there, because overall it was a definite Yum!
